WINTER

Skiing (oddly enough), downhill (and opposite the chalet ski du fond) ice skating, tobogganing, parascending, the 'bobluge' run, husky sledge ride. To view the piste maps link to the Chatel web site (on the links page - click the Union Flag for English) but remember Chatel represents only one of the 6 interlinked ski areas with over 650Km of pistes in total. Lift queues are rare except for weekends and French school holidays. All lifts can be accessed by a hands-free lift pass detected as you approach the lift - no more fumbling around! Apres ski includes discos, 2 cinemas, 10 pin bowling, outdoor ice skating, floodlit skiing and numerous bars and restaurants.

SUMMER

Outdoor swimming pool (3 pools with paddling area and waterslide), tennis, golf, parascending, the new 'fantasticable' (see Chatel web site), walking and mountain biking - several lifts stay open in all the resorts to take you and your bikes up the mountains the easy way! White water rafting takes place several miles down the valley and a short drive away you'll find thermal baths, a mountain zoo, Lake Geneva, steamers, lakeside towns and castles. And to this add mountain air, brilliant sunshine, low humidity - truly relaxing!
